(A) About the Race

1. How do I register for the event?

You can register and pay online for the event.

 

2. When can I collect my race kit?

You can collect your race kit on 29th May 2010 (Saturday), between 11am to 5pm at Taman Perbandaran Pulau Pinang (Youth Park) in Penang. If you are racing in the 26km run, you will need to present a RM20 deposit upon chip collection. This deposit will be returned to you upon the completion of your event once you return the timing chip.

 

3. What do I need to bring to collect my race kit?

You will need to bring along a print out of the receipt that was issued via email (with bib number) as well as your I/C or passport to verify your personal details.

 

4. Can someone else pick up my race kit on my behalf?

Yes, but you must first fill up and sign a 'consent' form indicating your approval for your friend / representative to pick up the race kit on your behalf.

 

5. Will I need to use a timing chip?

Only 26km runner will need to use a timing chip. A RM20 deposit will be required upon chip collection. This deposit will be returned to you upon the completion of your event once you return the timing chip.

 

6. Where do I park for the race?

The only parking available is at the end of the Youth Park / Taman Perbandaran Pulau Pinang, which can only be accessed via Jalan Kebun Bunga. You are encouraged to park elsewhere and carpool to the race site, or park further away and walk to the youth park, as the entrance and road within the youth park will be closed to public on the race day morning.

 

 

(B) About User Registration

1. How do I create a user account?

Go to the main homepage of www.malakoffrun.com.my and look for the Login Form area on the left menu bar. Choose the link that says "Create an account". Fill in the information as requested and once you've submitted your details, an email will be sent to the email address you indicated to "activate" your account before you are able to use it.

 

2. I have not received any email to "activate" my account, what should I do?

Please check the "junk" or "spam" mailbox in your email account, as sometimes the email gets is classified as junk by your mailbox as it is an auto-generated email. If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, you can contact us via the contact us page to inform us. Let us know the name you entered in the account for us to assist you.

 

3. I am unable to remember my username or password, what should do?

Go to the main home page of www.malakoffrun.com.my, under the "Login Form" on the left menu bar, look for the link "forgot password" or "forgot username". Click on either and follow the instructions given.

 

4. How do I change my details if I keyed it in wrongly?

Once you are logged in, you can change your details by going the "User Menu" area on the left menu bar, click on the "Edit Details" link and proceed to make the changes you require, then click on the "Save" button when you are done.

 

5. I want to change my user account password, what should I do?

Once you are logged in, you can change your password by going the "User Menu" area on the left menu bar, click on the "Change Password" link and proceed to make the changes you require, then click on the "Save" button when you are done.

 

 

(C) About Online Registration for the event

1. Is signing up as a user for the website considered me signing up for the event?

No, singing up as a user for the website is a pre-requisite for the online event registration only. You will still need to Login and click on the "Penang Run - Registration" on the main menu and fill in your details in the entry form.


2. Do I need to pay online upon online registration?

Yes, you will need to pay online upon registration in order to confirm your participation in the event. Once you have filled in your details for the event, if you return to the event registration page at a later time using the same computer, your information will be retained.

 

3. Can I sign up for more than one person?

You can sign up for your friends, but you will first need to create a user account for your friend, key in all their details, including the email for account activation and activate their user account, before you can fill in a new event registration form for your friend. We would however encourage every individual who intends to race to fill in their own details, to ensure that they enter in the correct category and have their address and other information saved correctly in the race database.


4. Why can't I see all the categories for the run in the online registration form?

Your age and race category is calculated automatically once you create a user account on the website. Hence you will only be able to see the categories that you are eligible to race in. Your age is calculate based on the race date 30th May 2010.


5. Once I click on the online registration page, I am asked to Logon - what do I do?

To register for the event, you are required to have a user account on the website. If you do not have a user account, please refer to question (B) 1. above for steps to create a user account. If you have a user account, you can fill in the username and password you chose when you created your user account, and click on "Login". You will then be able to fill in the event online registration form.


6. Once I have keyed in all my information and wish to fill in an online entry form, most of my details are already filled in. What if some of the information there is incorrect, how to I change it?

The information you see in the online registration form is taken directly from the information you keyed in when you created your user account. If you find that some details are incorrect, all you need to do is click on the "Edit Details" link, found on the "User Menu" section on the left menu bar. See question (B) 4. for more details.


7. I have tried to pay for the event using my credit card, but I get a "Payment Failure" message. What should I do?

- You need to ensure that your credit card details are correct / your credit card has not expired or over the limit.

- If your name contains any special characters (hyphenated or apostrophe) you will need to call your bank to check what name you should key into the "Name" section (to include or exclude the hyphen or apostrophe).

- You need to ensure that if your bank's credit card requires a 3D Secure password / PIN that you have that ready when making the online payment. To check if your bank requires a 3D Secure password, please click here.

- You can try using another credit card or another mode of payment (online banking, MEPS cash, Web Money)

- You can try waiting for a while and going back to the online payment later to try again.

- You can try contacting your bank to see why your credit card payment failed.


8. I have done all of the above, and still have a "Payment Failure" message. What should I do?

Contact us and let us know your details, so that we can try to assist you.


9. Can I go to my online banking website and pay directly from there?

No, you will need to pay using the link provided by the malakoffrun.com.my website when filing up the online entry form, otherwise the auto-generated code issuing your bib-number will not work.

 

10. I have paid for the event and received a online payment receipt from iPay88, but have not yet received the email from the malakoffrun.com.my with my Bib Number. What should I do?

The email from malakoffrun.com.my may arrive up to 24 hours after the online payment receipt from iPay88, so please be patient. If after 24 hours you still do not receive an email, please contact us with your details. In the meantime, please also ensure that you check your "junk" or "spam" mail box to see if the email could have ended up there.

2. What is a 3D Secure password / PIN?
3D Secure is a service facilitated by VISA and MasterCard that lets you transact online securely using your Credit Card. This service is available only on 3D Secure merchant sites.
• Verified by Visa (VBV) /MasterCard SecureCode (MSC), introduces password protection during an Internet purchase to authenticate the customer.
• The goal of VBV/MSC is to create the same trust and confidence amongst merchants and customers that exist in a face to face shopping environment.

3. Which banks require a 3D Secure Password / PIN?

Please note : The above banks are compliant with the 3D Secure and will require extra password / pin, inability to provide the password / pin may cause the payment to fail.

4. What is MEPS Cash?
MEPSCash in the ATM card, MyKad or any other card with the logo can be used to make payments as long as it is pre-loaded with electronic cash. No pre-registration or activation is required to enable MEPSCash. You can immediately top up MEPSCash at 6,500 ATMs nationwide. To find out more, click here.

5. What is Mobile Money?
Mobile Money is a sort of 'ATM' in your mobile phone. All you need to do is install the Mobile Money ATM feature into your phone and start paying with your Mobile. To find out more, click here.

6. What is Web Cash?
WEBCASH is a Prepaid Virtual Payment System where the customers determine the amount of the cash value they want to acquire / pay into their Webcash account. Once they procure an account for the desired value, the account will be activated. This will allow the subscriber to conduct online transactions offered by any e-Commerce web portal instantaneously.
