Malakoff Penang 2013 - Report

After 6 years, Malakoff 17km & 7km, Penang 2013 saw a whooping 2500 runners race this morning in Penang. Once again, we were blessed with beautiful weather beginning with a gorgeous sunrise to welcome the race start. 2000 runners ran along historical sites in Penang towards Straits Quay and back via Gurney Drive.

Ruburn Kummar blazed in at a time of 00:57:37 taking home the 1st placing in Men’s Open 17km while Ng Sun Nee from Women’s Veteran was the first of the women to cross the finishing line.

The 7km fun runners enjoyed a short and sweet sampler and to encourage Junior runners, we gave out placing medals to the top five. Balzer Thizbe Page from Canada won her category along with Lee Wen Jun for the Women Junior 7km and Men Junior 7km respectively.

A big thank you goes out to the Penang State Government and all the supporting bodies that provided their full support with venue and manpower.
