Malakoff Run 2012

WELL DONE to everyone who took part and CONGRATULATIONS to the winners of the Malakoff 17km and 7km, Penang 2012 on 25th March 2012. Running for the 5th year - the new venue and distance gave runners a different "taste" of Penang, with the race beginning at the historical site of Padang Kota Lama or the Esplanade as some locals know it to be. The shorter and flatter race course also gave more runners the chance to try out the new, non-conventional distance, while taking in some different sights of Penang from the last four years.
In the Men's Open race, the Kenyans took a strong lead with Muindi Onesmus Muasya and David Kipkirui Mutai coming in first and second respectively, finishing only seconds apart. The Women's Open race was lead by another Kenyan, Njihia Ann Makuhi who finished a good 18 minutes ahead the rest of her contenders.
